Chester Spatt is the Pamela R. and Kenneth B. Dunn Professor of Finance at the Carnegie Mellon University Tepper School of Business.  Chester will discuss his research on credit rating agencies and their regulation.  Agencies help solve information problems but pricing and regulation pose problems through their effects on incentives to provide accurate and unbiased ratings, as well as the incentives to engage in rating shopping.
